We are seeking a highly motivated student studying software development and machine learning to join Analog Devices for a Summer 2026 internship. This position focuses on ML programming for robotics applications, including motor drives, motion control, and robot interaction with the physical environment. The intern will work with a diverse team of hardware and electronics engineers to:

  • Develop ML algorithms for robotic hand and arm prototypes to perform basic tasks.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to characterize the responsiveness of electronic components to software inputs and ML training scenarios.
  • Conduct experiments exploring software/hardware interaction while manipulating objects of varying size, mass, shape, surface properties, and position.
  • Troubleshoot technical and communication issues as they arise.
  • Apply a basic understanding of power and control circuits used in robotics applications.
  • Prepare reports for team management and deliver a final presentation (talk or poster) at the end of the internship.
  • This position is located in San Jose, CA.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in software engineering, computer science, or machine learning, with an emphasis on robotics programming; at least one year of graduate study remaining.
  • Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering or physics is preferred; relevant coursework in electrical circuits or semiconductor devices is acceptable.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to a dynamic team culture and immerse yourself in the role.
  • Strong ability to work independently, self-manage duties, and take ownership of projects and deliverables.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
