Job Summary

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) is seeking qualified Interpreter / Unit Clerk professionals to support multiple clinical and non‑clinical departments across the hospital. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams, while also providing administrative and clerical support within clinical units.

Successful candidates will be assigned to various hospital areas based on operational requirements, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency services, surgical areas, and critical care units.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation services between patients, families, and healthcare professionals as required (Arabic ↔ English).
• Assist with unit clerical and administrative duties, including documentation, data entry, and record management.
• Support patient flow by coordinating with nurses, physicians, and allied health staff.
• Answer and route phone calls, manage inquiries, and assist with scheduling when required.
• Maintain accurate patient information in hospital systems.
• Prepare and organize unit records, forms, and reports in compliance with hospital standards.
• Assist with non‑clinical communication needs in units such as OPD, Emergency, ICU, Surgical Units, and supporting departments.
• Ensure confidentiality and comply with hospital policies, patient privacy, and safety regulations.
• Perform other administrative or support duties as assigned by the department.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
• Previous experience as a Hospital Interpreter, Unit Clerk, Ward Clerk, or Administrative Assistant is preferred.
• Basic computer skills (data entry, MS Office, hospital systems).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
• Professional, patient‑centric attitude with attention to detail.
• Willingness to be assigned across different hospital departments based on operational needs.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is an advantage.
• Experience supporting clinical units such as OPD, ICU, Emergency Room, Surgical Units, or inpatient wards is a plus.

Work Environment

Assignments will be made based on hospital operational requirements.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
