Our fast-growing client in South Jersey is adding an Inventory Accounting Analyst to their team, a critical role that ties together accounting, supply chain, and operations. This is your chance to step into a highly visible position where your accuracy, market knowledge, and analytical horsepower will directly influence cost of goods, margins, and the company’s financial performance.


What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for inbound inventory accounting, ensuring shipments, pricing, and valuation are clean, accurate, and fully reconciled. You will:

  • Examine inbound shipment documents to confirm accuracy and completeness.
  • Match quantities delivered to purchase orders and shipping records for both internal facilities and third-party warehouses.
  • Apply weekly commodity pricing using indices and contract-specific terms to properly value incoming loads.
  • Maintain detailed records of inbound cost components, variances, and valuation true-ups.
  • Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Accounting to ensure proper costing, classification, and allocation.
  • Investigate discrepancies involving weights, quality results, and documentation mismatches.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly inbound inventory schedules and reports.
  • Support GL reconciliations for inventory, freight, and COGS.
  • Assist with audits, workflow standardization, and process improvements across the inbound accounting cycle.
  • Monitor commodity trends and communicate financial impacts to leadership.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related area.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting, with a focus on inventory, logistics, and/or supply chain.
  • Solid understanding of BOLs, COAs, freight documentation, and market-driven costing.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical ability, communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-moving, detail-heavy environment.
