Inventory Associate - SOL

Position: Inventory Associate – STRAINS OF LIFE (SOL)

Reports To: Inventory Manager / General Manager
Location: Maryland (SOL Potomac)
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Non-Exempt
SOL is seeking 6 Inventory Associates for Potomac.

Position Overview

The Inventory Associate plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, organization, and flow of all inventory at SOL Potomac. This position supports the Inventory Manager and leadership team in ensuring 100% compliance, zero product loss, and exceptional operational standards as required by the (MCA) and COMAR regulations.

Inventory Associates are expected to be precise, dependable, and proactive — contributing to a seamless guest experience by ensuring all products are tracked, stocked, and presented accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Accuracy & Compliance

  • Assist with weekly cycle counts and participate in full monthly inventory audits on the first Sunday of every month.
  • Accurately track, label, and reconcile all products in compliance with MCA, COMAR, and SOL regulations.
  • Support daily inventory reconciliation by identifying and reporting discrepancies to the Inventory Manager immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant back-of-house environment at all times.
  • Support SOL in all areas of the business as needed.

Delivery Processing & Documentation

  • Receive and verify all incoming deliveries, ensuring all manifests, invoices, and lab results match product contents.
  • Assist in stickering, labeling, and organizing incoming product according to SOL standards.
  • Enter delivery data accurately into back office and ensure product details (strain, cannabinoid content, terpene profile, pricing) are correct.
  • Maintain delivery logs and ensure all required documentation is stored properly for inspection.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping for visitor log and capture of visitor ID per visit.
  • Communicate any delivery issues or discrepancies to management promptly.

Product Maintenance & Stock Organization

  • Restock and rotate product inventory efficiently to ensure freshness, compliance, and full availability on the sales floor and e-commerce platforms.
  • Ensure back stock and floor inventory are organized, labeled, and consistent with system data and SOL standards.
  • Monitor expiration dates, packaging integrity, and product condition, reporting any issues immediately.
  • Maintain neat, accurate, and compliant packaging and labeling across all product categories.
  • Maintain neat, accurate, and compliant stickering of barcodes/QR codes across all product categories.
  • Ensure all inventory trash and cardboard is taken out at the end of every shift.
  • Ensure restocks happen in a prompt and accurate manor.

Cross-Training & Floor Assistance

  • Be cross-trained in all operational zones, including front-of-house, fulfillment, curbside, and floor consultant to support the team as needed. It is expected that inventory associates will fill in any zone as needed.
  • Assist daily with pick/pack and order fulfillment with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Oversee pick/pack and order fulfillment to ensure accurate product returns/product organization.
  • Provide floor assistance when requested — ensuring product availability and operational support to guest-facing teams.
  • Support fellow associates during opening, closing, and restock periods as scheduled.

Operational Standards & Compliance

  • Uphold the SOL Standard by maintaining precision, cleanliness, and professionalism in all areas.
  • Follow all security, cash handling, and compliance protocols as directed.
  • Complete all mandatory MCA and SOL training, including annual Responsible Vendor Training (RVT).
  • Immediately report any missing product, discrepancies, or compliance concerns to the Inventory Manager and GM.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of retail, or inventory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Metrc inventory management systems required.
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and monthly audit Sundays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks involving repetitive movement or standing for long periods.
  • Must maintain a valid MCA agent registration and remain in good standing.
  • Team-oriented, dependable, and committed to accuracy and compliance.

Additional Duties

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
