Inventory Clerk

Summary: Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Inventory Clerk will be accountable for the day-to-day management of clinical inventory and supplies. This position will be responsible for inventory management activity for all assigned departments and/or clinical programs including inventory distribution and cycle counts to ensure the correct supplies are stocked and ready for use.
Responsibilities:
The Inventory Clerk position provides multi-functional support to the organization, working both independently and in coordination with members of Purchasing, Operations, Clinical and Facilities teams. Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
  • Receives shipments and properly distributes supplies to assigned storage areas, clinical teams, facility and/or clinical programs using appropriate technology and systems.
  • Checks all shipments for accuracy and processes all applicable receiving documents (packing slip, bill of lading) according to documented procedures to ensure prompt and correct system inputs.
  • Packages products for return to vendors and completes necessary shipment documentation.
  • Maintains all areas of material storage in a neat and organized manner, utilizing proper product rotation (FIFO) and considering shelf life/expiration dates.
  • Audits inventory and performs regular cycle counts per defined processes and schedules.
  • Reviews inventory par levels, and notifies Purchasing of any needed adjustments and/or trends identified.
  • Restocks supplies in identified storage locations in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that all temperature-sensitive products are stored appropriately and delivered according to manufacturer/company policy.
  • Monitors quantity on-hand issues, reconciliation and research of inventory count discrepancies.
  • Ensures compliance to policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
  • HS Diploma/ GED required
  • 2+ years inventory management experience and/or 2+ years of healthcare experience in a clinical setting preferred.
Desired Skills:
  • Candidates should have prior inventory handling experience and a robust understanding of inventory control and management strategies.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to visually inspect boxes and contents to ensure no damaged items are received.
  • Must have the ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem solver with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter, quick learner with the ability to work independently and efficiently.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record required for travel between multiple company locations

Language Skills: English, both written and verbal is required. Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal preferred.
