Inventory Control Analyst

Position Description:

We own an interest in or operate approximately 79,000 miles of pipelines, 139 terminals. Our pipelines transport natural gas, refined petroleum products, crude oil, condensate, CO2, and other products. Our terminals store and handle various commodities including gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, chemicals, metals, petroleum coke, ethanol and other renewable fuels and feedstocks

PRIMARY PURPOSE

This position is part of the Procurement and Administration Department. The successful candidate will provide inventory management and investment recovery support to Operations and Project Management across all Kinder Morgan businesses.

Job Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Work with field personnel to set and track minimum and maximum inventory levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensure appropriate levels are maintained by tracking usage rates and conducting physical audits.
  • Assist and perform inventory replenishment.
  • Support inventory requirements associated with acquisition integration and divestures.
  • Recommend and implement process improvement initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and ensure best practices.
  • Participate in the creation of items, maintenance and support of the Lawson Item Master.
  • Obtain supplier quotes for materials, services, and equipment to support operational needs.
  • Create and process Requests for Materials (RFMs) to ensure timely availability of required goods.
  • Manage low‑dollar purchases in accordance with company procurement policies and approval thresholds.

Investment Recovery:

  • Facilitate surplus sales and redeployments throughout Kinder Morgan.
  • Act as a liaison between the Business Unit and the Investment Recovery Company.
  • Execute Purchase Agreements and Bills of Sale.
  • Maintain Surplus database and work with Purchasing and Project Management to redeploy

Project Support:

  • Assist as needed buyers and vendors with material order issues.
  • Resolve any material discrepancies, shortages or damages.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of orders for project materials delivered to staging warehouse.

Position Requirements


Education/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Warehousing, Materials Management, Purchasing, Operations, Engineering or related field is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power Point.

Physical Requirements:

  • Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without an accommodation.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Operate forklifts, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Perform work in dusty environment and all types of temperature/weather conditions.
  • Must meet medical criteria for use of respiratory protective equipment, if required.

Pay range is $55,000 - $106,000. This position includes a discretionary annual incentive plan. Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill set.
