Inventory Control Specialist

Invariant Corporation is seeking a talented and motivated Inventory Control Specialist with a minimum 2+ years of direct inventory management experience required.
Duties Include:
- Inventory issuing, stocking, cataloging, performing cycle counts and supporting quality inspections.
- Update inventory count and maintain inventory records to share with management and other stakeholders
- Physical custody of inventory and recordkeeping within the ERP system
- Report inventory discrepancies
- Participate in material management meetings
- Produce regular inventory reports.
- Audit all processes and procedures pertaining to the movement of product.
- Kit and issue parts for both electrical and mechanical assembly builds.
- Maintain meticulous inventory records using the ERP system to document physical inventory and equipment.
- Develop policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure quality and cost control
- Uses knowledge of production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert proper personnel regarding potential problems with material and appropriate remedial action
- Backup for tracking, tagging, handling and disposition of Government property
- Backup for maintaining Government property inventory database
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field with typically 2+ years of direct inventory management experience
- Thorough understanding of inventory management/supply chain processes and best practices
- Detail oriented with a commitment to a high level of customer service
- Must be able to communicate effectively with engineers, customers, and business professionals
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and ERP system
- Experience using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)
Preferred qualifications:
- Additional years of stockroom and/or material kitting experience
- Experience with Jamis or CostPoint ERP systems
- Knowledge of ESD processes and procedures
- Certified Inventory Control Specialist
- Experience in Government Manufacturing
- Knowledge and experience in processing and maintaining government property
- Active Secret Clearance is preferred, but the ability to obtain and maintain is required

- Work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgment while also proving an understanding of working in a team environment.
Work Environment
- Office, Lab, Warehouse and Field environment
- Sitting for extended periods of time at desk, in telecons/meetings with peers, management
- Lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at customer worksites and Invariant facilities
This position is expected to be performed only in the state of Alabama.
