Inventory Controller

Job Summary:

The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing the company’s inventory levels across all storage locations. This role ensures accurate stock records, minimizes discrepancies, and supports the efficient flow of goods to meet business needs while reducing excess inventory and costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels, including raw materials, finished goods, and supplies.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor stock movement to prevent overstocking, stockouts, or obsolescence.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management.
  • Analyze trends, forecast demand, and suggest adjustments to procurement or production schedules.
  • Identify slow-moving or excess stock and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordination & Communication
  • Work closely with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to ensure timely stock replenishment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for delivery schedules and order discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all inventory transactions.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance
  • Implement and maintain inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and quality controls.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Systems & Technology
  • Use inventory management systems (ERP/WMS) to track, monitor, and report stock.
  • Recommend software updates or tools to improve inventory visibility and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
  • Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (Excel)
  • Effective communication and teamwork

Optional Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified in Inventory Management (CIM)
