The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining accurate inventory levels across all store branches. This role ensures product availability, prevents stock discrepancies, and supports smooth retail operations through continuous coordination with purchasing, warehouse, sales, and store teams.

Key Responsibilities1. Inventory Monitoring & Control

  • Track stock levels daily to avoid shortages or overstock.
  • Perform regular physical stock counts (daily/weekly/monthly).
  • Reconcile physical counts with the system (POS/Odoo/ERP).
  • Investigate and report stock variances.

2. Receiving & Issuing Goods

  • Verify and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and quantity.
  • Ensure proper documentation of goods received (GRNs, invoices, delivery notes).
  • Oversee transfer of items between branches and warehouses.
  • Make sure all outgoing items are recorded correctly.

3. Data Accuracy & System Updates

  • Update inventory transactions in the system immediately.
  • Maintain accurate product details (SKU, barcode, description, pricing).
  • Report any system discrepancies or barcode issues.

4. Loss Prevention & Compliance

  • Monitor for potential loss, damage, or theft and report issues promptly.
  • Ensure correct storage methods to avoid damage/spoilage.
  • Maintain compliance with internal inventory policies and procedures.

5. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with purchasing team for stock replenishment.
  • Communicate stock shortages, fast-moving items, and slow movers.
  • Work closely with retail store supervisors for display stock updates.

6. Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
  • Highlight slow-moving, obsolete, or expired items.
  • Provide suggestions to improve stock rotation and reduce losses.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in inventory management or retail stock control (1–3 years).
  • Strong knowledge of POS/ERP systems (Odoo knowledge is a plus).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
