Role: Under the direction of the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for carrying out a variety of inventory support tasks, including daily cycle counting, credit and return processing, researching inventory discrepancies, researching vendor mis shipments, and assisting with overflow receiving. Once fully trained in operational tasks, this position will be assigned to various administrative duties, including creating stock/bin labels, auditing the Item Data Report for non-stock and special-order discrepancies, performing inventory adjustments in VAI, and learning Mid and Year-End Inventory processing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cycle counts, reconcile the counts, and submit the results to the Director of Operations for approval before execution within the system.
  • Process daily credits/returns/RMA paperwork and assign their disposition. (i.e., return to stock, salvage, scrap, etc.) Communicate the results with the Branch Purchasing Administrator to ensure all records in VAI are matched for proper dispute resolution with customers.
  • Coordinate all vendor materials returns and credits into the Alliance Door Products business with the Branch Administrator to ensure all vendor credits are received/processed and inventory levels are correct.
  • Weekly review of all special orders and non-stock items that are not committed to sales orders to ensure inventory accuracy. Work with department supervisors to resolve all discrepancies.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback to the Corporate Purchasing Agent on stock items with abnormal usage and where inventory commitment, damage, or quality has brought inventory too low.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Purchasing and the Director of Operations to support purchasing strategy and execution within Alliance Door Products to support sales initiatives that may include bin setup or re-racking/relocation of inventory items.
  • Assist the Director of Operations in the setup and management of the biannual physical inventory counts and ensure Corporate methodologies and directives are being followed.
  • Other administrative-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience, Required and Preferred:

  • College degree and/or minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training.
  • Understanding computerized purchasing and inventory requirements in a distribution setting.
  • Good warehouse environment skills in forklift, reach truck, and sky-lift operation, along with warehouse layout and installation experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use various types of computer software (preferably VAI & Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
  • Hard working, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, 8-9 hours a day. Must be able to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to occasionally use a ladder for pulling/stocking materials, as necessary.
  • Frequently walking and moving in a production and warehouse area setting.
  • Able to move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machines, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office machines.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas clearly through written and verbal forms so that others will understand.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, DOE
