Schedule: Must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

IN SUMMARY

The Inventory Receiver / Sales Associate is a dual-function role supporting both receiving operations and the sales floor. This position ensures the accurate and timely intake of goods, maintains inventory integrity within our POS system, and delivers a positive, service-oriented customer experience.

This role is fluid by design. Time may shift between back-of-house receiving and front-of-house support depending on business needs. Success in this role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and comfort moving between operational and customer-facing responsibilities.

Each team member is accountable for five core areas:

1. Data Entry

2. Sales Floor Stocking & Maintenance

3. Credit Requests & Management

4. Shelf Tag Audits

5. Cycle Counting / Inventory Accuracy

These represent the primary focus areas and are not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.

OF COURSE, THERE ARE OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

This role requires working closely with team members and interacting with customers regularly. Collaboration, communication, and adaptability are essential to success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Receiving

  • Receive, unload, and process incoming deliveries accurately and efficiently
  • Inspect shipments for quality and accuracy; identify discrepancies or damages
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders and invoices
  • Enter data into ECRS inventory system accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area
  • Coordinate with purchasing and team members on inventory status
  • Process vendor returns and documentation
  • Support cycle counts, audits, and physical inventory processes

Sales Floor & Customer Service

  • Stock, rotate, and maintain merchandise to standards
  • Ensure shelves are full, labeled, and visually appealing
  • Move product from receiving to the floor efficiently
  • Provide friendly, helpful customer service
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor
  • Assist with promotions, seasonal changes, and displays
  • Communicate product issues or customer feedback to leadership
  • Support additional tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced environment

Maintain speed and efficiency in completing assigned tasks

Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and customers

Demonstrate strong organization and attention to detail, including identifying and correcting errors

Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet daily and weekly workload demands

Maintain cleanliness and follow sanitation standards at all times

Handle and present products with care, ensuring quality and visual standards are met

Provide consistent, courteous customer service

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 12 years of receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred
  • Experience with inventory systems preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to shift between operational and customerfacing tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Customerfocused mindset
  • Ability to read purchase orders and shipping documents
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Comfort with data entry and computer systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE ABLE TO DO (with or without accommodation)

  • Lift and move objects up to 40 pounds regularly
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Bend, reach, carry, and perform physical tasks throughout shifts
  • Move throughout the store, including outdoor areas as needed

WHAT THE WORK ENVIRONMENT IS LIKE

This role works across both receiving areas and the retail floor. Expect tight spaces at times, movement between buildings, and exposure to changing Vermont weather conditions.
