Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated A/R Representative to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a solid understanding of financial concepts.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and account reconciliations.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft to track and manage financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations while performing financial analysis and reporting.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Engage in negotiations with clients regarding payment terms and outstanding balances while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately, including journal entries and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Collaborate with the accounting team on corporate accounting tasks, including accounts payable when necessary.
- Assist in medical billing processes by understanding CPT coding and ICD-10 terminology as needed.
- Maintain organized records of all transactions and communications related to accounts receivable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles, preferably within public accounting or non-profit accounting environments.
- Familiarity with financial services concepts, revenue cycle management, and medical collection practices is a plus.
- Proficient in using financial software tools; experience with Quicken is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and credit analysis effectively.
- Excellent math skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively over the phone while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
