Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our supply chain and warehouse management team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in optimizing inventory levels, streamlining procurement processes, and enhancing overall materials management through data-driven insights. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to demand planning, process improvement, and supply chain efficiency within a dynamic retail or e-commerce environment.

Duties

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, AS400, and 3PL platforms.
  • Conduct data collection, mining, and analysis to identify trends, forecast demand, and support procurement strategies.
  • Utilize analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and data visualization techniques to present actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with sourcing teams on procurement activities, negotiations, and supplier sourcing strategies.
  • Oversee order fulfillment processes ensuring timely delivery and optimal stock levels across distribution centers.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in materials management and warehouse distribution operations.
  • Manage purchasing activities, including demand planning and materials sourcing for retail or e-commerce channels.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams on inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and reconciliation efforts.
  • Utilize SQL for data analysis and reporting purposes to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols when operating equipment such as forklifts during inventory handling.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in supply chain management, warehouse distribution, or materials management roles.
  • Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and other data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms; experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Familiarity with procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, and demand planning.
  • Experience working within retail management or e-commerce environments is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for process improvement opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain concepts including order fulfillment, materials management, and logistics coordination.
  • Ability to operate forklifts is a plus but not mandatory; relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
