Inventory Specialist

Position Summary: The Inventory Specialist & Warehouse Manager has the primary responsibility of increasing and maintaining company profitability by maintaining accurate inventory levels; the candidate also ensures that optimal inventory is organized and ready for use. Inventory Specialists should have excellent interpersonal communication skills and use basic computer programs like Microsoft Office and Excel to communicate and retain records throughout their shift. Duties include controlling the flow of supplies and equipment, tracking inventory maintenance for safety reasons. They also develop protocols to mitigate loss if something ever happens, like fire or theft at your workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements procedures for ensuring that adequate inventory levels are present.
• Identifies and optimizes common inventory items.
• Comes up with ways to dispose of or sell obsolete items in the inventory.
• Works with other DLC departments for inventory controls.
• Ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner.
• Audits the facility’s entire inventory on a regular basis and provides reports to management.
• Trains other employees in inventory control.
• Keeps warehouse organized
• Obtains bids from outside vendors, set up dumpster rentals, and assist facilities at store locations
• Manages the inventory software and projects.
• Follows all existing company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the warehouse.
• Responsible for all fleet vehicles.
• Responsible for ensuring all forklift operators are certified and trained properly.
• Responsible for keeping all procedures and activities in the warehouse up to OSHA standards.

Essential Requirements for Education and/or Experience:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-year previous experience preferred.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to satisfactorily pass a Background Check as well as a drug test.
