LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITY AND AGING (DDA), PROTECTION FROM HARM DIVISION, MADISON COUNTY

A Motor Vehicle Records screening will be conducted prior to employment.

This position is designed as Hybrid (In office and Remote).

This position requires a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered for this position.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in special education, education, rehabilitation or therapeutic health, nursing, sociology, social work, or any behavioral science field and experience equivalent to one year of working with persons with disabilities, aging, and/or mental health work.

Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in special education, rehabilitation or therapeutic health, nursing, sociology, social work, or any behavioral science field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, aging, or mental health work may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

OR

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to two years of working with persons with disabilities, aging, and/or mental health work.

OR

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and completion of an internship with the Department of Disability and Aging.

Necessary Special Qualifications:
1. Complete a background check in a manner approved by the appointing authority.
2. Some positions may require a valid driver's license.

Overview

This individual will work closely with providers in the West Tennessee Region to ensure that Action Plans and supporting documentation adequately address the outcomes and Informational Findings of DDA and Provider Investigations, ensuring compliance within the West Region, while acting as a back-up Specialist statewide. The IFU Specialist 2 shall attend Regional Quality Management Committee (RQMC) meetings for the West Region and represent DDA as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of REM Investigations Follow-Up in the absence of the IFU Coordinator. Additionally, the IFU Specialist 2 shall provide support and Technical Assistance (TA) to providers as needed and run various REM reports as needed/requested.

Relationship building, strategic planning, and advanced analytical skills are key areas of this role, as well as a strong willingness to serve people. A bachelor's degree or 2-5 years of relevant work experience is required experience. Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develops various reports for tracking and trending purposes, and to ensure compliance within the unit.
• Develops various reports as a result of requests made by providers,
• Regional Office (RO) Committees, Central Office (CO) using SharePoint data.
• Ensures all required components of Provider Action Plans have been addressed, supporting documentation received, and appropriately documented in SharePoint.
• Ensures Closure Letters for all DDA Investigations are completed as soon as possible, but within 40 calendar days after the Final Report closure date, ensuring that IFU Virtual Follow-Up Meetings are conducted for all Class 1 substantiated investigations and Class 2 as indicated.
• Promotes quality improvement and prevention by providing Technical Assistance (TA) when identified in Quality Assurance (QA) Survey Reports or requested by providers or DDA management for solutions to REM issues/concerns.
• Actively participates in monthly RQMC meetings in the absence of the IFU Coordinator, sharing REM issues and concerns and/or trends identified with development of strategies, if needed, to address concerns, and assists the Provider Support Team with the provision of Requested or Mandated Technical Assistance (MTA) regarding REM issues/concerns.
• Maintains oversight of the Action Plan and Final Report production email boxes.
• Provides accurate and current Reportable Event information to internal and external customers when requested or as changes occur.
• Queries and distributes reports from the SSRS Database per the specific request or purpose within agreed upon timeframes for DDA and Providers.
