Overview

The District Attorney’s Office for the 8th Judicial District is seeking an Investigator to join our team.

This position requires a current Colorado POST certification. Investigators in this office may be assigned to general docket(s) and/or Specific Victims Unit cases. For this vacancy, the office is seeking an Investigator with an interest in working with Domestic Violence cases. While this role may include a specialized focus on domestic violence crimes and close collaboration with the Domestic Violence Unit, the selected candidate will also be assigned to at least one additional general courtroom and may perform other typical investigative duties.

The Investigator works closely with prosecuting attorneys, law enforcement agencies, and other investigative units to gather evidence, build cases, and support ongoing investigations. Strong knowledge of criminal law, particularly related to domestic violence, and an understanding of victim-centered work are essential for success in this role.

This position differs from many traditional law enforcement roles in that it follows a standard 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule, with weekends and paid holidays off. Telecommuting is possible once a week after a probationary period. The role also offers specialized assignments, training opportunities, and the ability to serve as a peace officer while maintaining an active POST certification and professional connections with multiple law enforcement agencies. Investigators conduct a variety of investigations at the direction of the District Attorney and provide investigative and staff support to the office.

It is REQUIRED that candidates upload a resume and cover letter addressed to Scott Rogers, Chief Investigator, District Attorney's Office, and a copy of their current Colorado POST certificate.
