Investment Banking Analyst

Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips (ODP) is hiring an Analyst to join our TMT-focused investment banking team in New York. ODP is seeking a detail-oriented, committed and proactive individual with excellent financial analysis and interpersonal skills who is focused on owning M&A engagements from start to finish in the technology and media sectors. The position offers candidates the opportunity to work directly with senior members of ODP’s team and our clients’ executive management teams.

The Analyst role specifically is a central component of our Transaction Support Team and will operate with a great deal of autonomy. The Analyst position is a visible role and may involve a significant amount of client interaction. Once staffed on projects the Analyst will work directly with the Partners and Managing Directors for the remainder of the engagement, either exclusively, or in conjunction with one of the other team members.  

Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips is a close-knit team, and cultural fit is a very important consideration. Candidates must have prior experience working in a finance-oriented role doing corporate finance or M&A-related analysis.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of pitch presentation materials including the development of valuation materials (comparable companies/transaction, DCF analysis, market metric-based valuations, etc.), buyers lists and market trends
• Assisting in researching and drafting Confidential Information Memoranda
• Supporting buyer due diligence through the operation of virtual data rooms and maintaining due diligence tracking reports
• Support other key firm functions where necessary, including contact management, marketing initiatives & events, and document production

Desired Skills & Experience:

• At least 1 investment banking internship or full-time role is required
• Excellent financial analysis skills required
• Strong research, writing & presentation and project-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly developed interpersonal skills – client and team interaction will be a significant component of the position
• Organized, thorough and detail oriented across multiple simultaneous work streams
• Proven leadership and ability to work independently and proactively to meet deadlines
• High level of energy, enthusiasm and integrity
• Exceptional academic and professional track record
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• TMT industry experience a plus but not required
• An ability to apply lessons and feedback across a variety of settings
• Interest in digital media, advertising & marketing, mobile, social media, EdTech, HealthTech, or information services is a plus
