Job Description: Investment Director (Renewable Energy C&I)


About the Company

A PE funded renewables platform is seeking an accomplished Investment Director to lead strategic investments in C&I distributed solar across GCC markets. The role combines origination, rigorous financial analysis, financing, and end-to-end deal execution. The ideal candidate brings deep transaction experience in renewables, power, or infrastructure, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels in fast-paced environments.



About the Role

The Investment Director will be responsible for leading strategic investments in the renewable energy sector across the GCC markets.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine investment theses aligned with the platform’s growth priorities in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Oman, with selective regional expansion.
  • Source, evaluate, and execute acquisitions and partnerships, including comprehensive financial, commercial, legal, technical, and operational due diligence.
  • Build and own detailed financial models, valuations, and sensitivities to inform investment decisions and financing structures.
  • Lead negotiations, structuring, documentation, and closing, partnering closely with internal teams, lenders, and external advisors.
  • Prepare investment committee materials and present clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership and sponsors.
  • Monitor market dynamics, regulatory developments, and competitive activity across GCC to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Drive portfolio value creation post‑investment, including bolt‑ons, optimizations, and structured solutions.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with developers, advisors, lenders, co‑investors, and industry partners to build pipeline and deal flow.
  • Oversee transaction timelines and deliverables to ensure disciplined, timely execution.
  • Uphold compliance with internal governance, risk frameworks, and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record leading and closing investments in renewables, power, or broader infrastructure.
  • Strong command of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and corporate/project finance.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to distill complex analyses into concise insights for decision‑makers.
  • Collaborative, low‑ego operator with high ownership in dynamic, multi‑stakeholder settings.


Required Skills

  • 10–15 years’ experience in investment management, M&A, or corporate development with increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross‑functional deal teams and coordination of external advisors and lenders.
  • GCC experience strongly preferred; prior Middle East exposure required if currently based outside the region.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
