The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL SUMMARY
Supports activity related to reporting endowment investment balances (the University’s largest asset). Works closely with the internal investment office leadership and staff, the University’s budget and financial reporting offices as well as external consultants, custodians, auditors and investment advisory firms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reporting/Analysis:
- Analyzes investment and financial data, including performance, asset allocation, benchmarking, liquidity, holdings transparency, and risk measurements, for regular distribution or upon request to the Investment Office team.
- Accurately prepares reports and contributes aggregated analysis for the Investment Committee and other internal and external stakeholders, exercising thorough knowledge of policies, practices and procedures for asset allocation, individual and aggregate portfolio performance analysis and current portfolio risk exposure measured against stated acceptable levels.
- Manages supplemental performance analysis and reporting for alternative investments.
Systems management:
- Manages portfolio analytics system to ensure accurate and timely ingestion of data.
- Maintains Investment Office document and data organizational systems and coordinates periodic updates of contact data for the LTIP’s active investment manager relationships.
- Communicates frequently with multiple client service teams to maintain the overall relationships and drive increased functionality within the data platforms.
- Conducts on-site due diligence visits with vendors.
- Assists with on-boarding new service providers as needed.
Performance reporting:
- Executes the performance reporting process for the consolidated investments of the University’s Long Term Investment Pool (“LTIP”).
- Manages the monthly reconciliation of administrator reporting to investment manager statements and performance estimates. Works closely with the administrator team to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Cash management:
- Monitors and coordinates all portfolio activity (e.g. capital calls & distributions, rebalancing actions, account set-up and administration) across numerous data platforms.
- Maintains a detailed cash projection and reconciles LTIP cash to custodian reporting on a daily basis, researching and resolving any discrepancies.
Operational & Administrative Processes:
- Assists in the populating of required documentation for investment activity of current managers.
- Participates in operational due diligence of prospective managers .
- Assists in the collection of data for the annual audit, as well as applicable tax and regulatory filings.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities where applicable.
Other:
- Maintains optimal office efficiency by cross-training job duties with the Operations team.
- Prepares and maintains meeting minutes and notes as directed by leadership.
- Networks with investment operations teams of peer institutions and attends conferences as applicable.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration. Required
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment operations, accounting, financial analysis, or a related financial services role. Required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Understanding of performance and risk measurement best practices and the calculations that underlie them
- Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel, and strong quantitative and analytical capabilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment, consistently meet deadlines, and adapt to challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of building relationships with internal and external professionals while representing the University of Rochester
- Ability & willingness to travel as needed
