IP Backbone Planning Principal Engineer

About the Role

Supervise Telecom rollout activities within the region.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and design of IP backbone network topology (Core, Edge, and Interconnect layers).
• Assist in capacity planning and traffic forecasting to ensure optimal network performance and scalability.
• Analyze network utilization trends and propose expansion or optimization plans.
• Participate in peering, transit, and interconnection planning with external partners.
• Contribute to IP addressing schemes, routing design, and network segmentation.
• Support implementation of redundancy and high availability strategies.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams during network upgrades and expansions.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and network design diagrams.
• Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to IP and transport networks.
• Assist in vendor evaluation and technical assessments.

Qualifications

• Excellent Computer skills and problem-solving skills Very Good in English (Reading, Writing & Oral).
• Bachelor's degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering /Telecommunication.

Desirable Qualifications

The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient network infrastructure supporting voice, data, and digital services.

Required Experience

2–3 years of experience to support the design, planning, and optimization of the IP backbone network within a mobile operator environment or relevant role in a vendor/partner.
