Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage all irrigation and landscape design submissions from consultants and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and environmental standards.
  • Develop and validate irrigation design layouts, hydraulic calculations, water demand analyses, and system sizing.
  • Evaluate plant species selection to ensure suitability for climate, soil conditions, and project objectives.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and environmental teams on interface points such as water supply connectivity, drainage, and utilities.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and alignment with approved designs.
  • Review material submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documentation for irrigation and landscape works.
  • Identify design gaps, propose technical solutions, and support decision-making for design modifications.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of irrigation systems and ensure proper system functionality.
  • Manage technical documentation, reports, and compliance records to support PMC requirements.
  • Participate in design review meetings and ensure timely closure of comments and action items.
  • Guide project teams on best practices for water conservation, sustainable landscaping, and long-term maintenance planning.
  • Review and verify water source adequacy, pressure requirements, pump sizing, and storage capacity for irrigation systems.
  • Assess soil fertility, moisture retention, and propose suitable soil amendments for sustainable planting.
  • Coordinate with environmental specialists to ensure compliance with water conservation regulations and sustainability guidelines.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and design justification documents for irrigation and agricultural plans.
  • Monitor contractor work progress and verify that installation practices follow approved quality standards.
  • Ensure proper integration of smart irrigation controllers, sensors, and automation systems.
  • Review and validate BOQs, cost estimates, and material quantities related to irrigation and landscape works.
  • Support the preparation of tender documents, technical specifications, and scope of work for related packages.
  • Highlight risks related to irrigation design, water consumption, plant survival rates, and propose mitigation measures.
  • Provide technical input during value engineering studies to optimize cost, maintenance, and long-term performance.
  • Supervise testing, flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning procedures of irrigation lines and equipment.
  • Ensure all landscape and irrigation works meet safety requirements and adhere to applicable codes and regulations.
  • Verify maintenance manuals, operation guides, and training materials submitted by contractors.
  • Coordinate with facility management teams to ensure irrigation and planting strategies align with long-term operational needs.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Landscape Engineering, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in irrigation and agricultural design, preferably on large-scale institutional or government projects.
  • Strong background in modern irrigation systems such as drip, sprinkler, and smart irrigation technology.
  • Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Irrigation CAD tools, and hydraulic calculation software.
  • Thorough understanding of soil classification, plant selection, water-saving strategies, and sustainable landscape practices.
  • Experience working in a PMC environment with strong knowledge of design review procedures.
  • Good communication, document control, and coordination skills.
