Irrigation Technician

Greenleaf Landscaping, Inc has an opening for an experienced Irrigation Tech to join their team!

Irrigation Technicians maintain the irrigation equipment assigned to them or in a specific area. This equipment can include sprinklers, water lines, pumps, suction devices, valves and other plumbing equipment in commercial and residential properties. Currently work is scheduled in maintenance, but there is room for growth to include future irrigation installs.

Our shifts are Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm, with opportunities for overtime during peak turn on and blow out windows. After blow outs occur, our Irrigation Techs will move over to helping with fall clean ups, and over the winter we do on-call snow removal, providing a $2.00/hr pay differential.

Irrigation Repair Technician Duties:

• Repair irrigation system defects
• Assist superintendent in maintaining parts inventory
• Make all irrigation orders with approval.
• Perform preventative maintenance and curative maintenance on pump stations
• Operate main pumps and pump controllers
• Maintain daily record of activities and expenses
• Check irrigation systems for leaks, lakes and dry areas
• Inventory irrigation parts and supplies
• Operate and maintain light utility vehicles and powered equipment
• Record changes in irrigation system component routings or locations on the working copy of the system as-built drawings
• Ensure company procedures are being followed in the field
• Completing daily paperwork (timesheets, DOT sheets)
• Completing startup sprinklers in the spring
• Completing blow out sprinkler maintenance in the fall
• Reviewing “day before call ahead” and next day schedule
• Off season work available in landscape cleanups, snow plowing, etc.

Position Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
• 2 or more years experience working in landscaping with at least 1 year in irrigation maintenance
• Knowledge of irrigation systems/components, and maintenance of existing systems
• Ability to kneel, stand and lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. daily
• Excellent customer service skills

Starting wage range is $21.00-$26.00/hr DOE.
