GENERAL SUMMARY
The IS Data & Analytics Development Specialist is responsible for designing, coding, maintaining and enhancing CHS - developed applications to meet the needs of the departments and provide strong analytical understanding to capture, report and aggregate data. Reports to department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works collaboratively with department personnel to gather reporting requirements, assimilate complex data across multiple sources, build data connections when necessary and provide information needed for data-driven decisions.
Gathers an understanding of business procedures to assess and organize data needed for research, compliance, and normal business practices.
Maintains appropriate documentation used for the design, coding and utilization of data.
Predicts the meaning of data by cleansing, screening, and applying statistical methods and algorithms when necessary.
Maintains data integrity and security to keep data management systems current.
Explores and identifies opportunities for improvements; recommends enhancements to improve and optimize the environment.
Keeps abreast of trends, best practices, and new developments pertaining to data management and analytics.
Performs other duties, tasks and specialized projects as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or relevant combination of education and experience.
Computer software, excel spreadsheets, SQL, reporting tools experience a must.
Demonstrates experience working with relational and flat databases.
A questioning attitude, attention to detail, strong communication skills and problem solving abilities required.
Must be highly self-motivated and flexible while able to accept direction with the completion of tasks.
Proven ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred:
Two or more years of data mining experience.
Four or more years in a Data/ Business/ Systems Analyst role.
Previous healthcare information systems/ data analytics experience.
Business objects and Cerner/ Epic experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like with the exception of visits to the computer room.
