This position is responsible for providing IT and clinical application support for optimization of the EHR and integrated/associated applications as related to laboratory workflows and practices. This position is responsible for serving as a clinically trained professional liaison between Information Systems, Administration, and any other departments necessary that provide patient care. This position uses expertise to develop, implement, and evaluate projects for the facility to best facilitate its clinical usefulness. This position requires familiarity with the organizations laboratory workflows and regulatory requirements, integration points and patient experiences. Familiarity with how the laboratory department interacts operationally with other areas of the organization such as ordering physicians, billing office practices, and medical records. This position provides staff training and performance improvement of systems implemented/utilized. This position engages in significant interaction with clients, vendors, support personnel, administration, peers, and others.
Associates Degree in Applied Science required
Medical Technologist preferred; Medical Laboratory Technician required
Licensure from the State of Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board as a medical laboratory technologist (M.T.).
Registry as a medical technologist from a national board of certification [C.A.P., M.T. (A.S.C.P.); A.M.T.; N.C.A, C.L.S.], is preferred.
DI/Administrator Certificate Preferred
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting required.
Experience in healthcare IT, EHR systems, or clinical informatics preferred.
EPIC Certification will be required in the timeframe as determined by the Chief Information Officer.
