Overview
Drake Manufacturing LLC is a leading international provider of automated or manual precision CNC manufacturing systems located in Warren, OH. We are seeking an ISO Manager to be responsible for developing and optimizing management systems, reporting performance to top management, and driving company-wide quality initiatives. This will be accomplished by leading and managing the ISO 9001 program to ensure that Drake Manufacturing is properly performing audits and maintaining the proper records on a timely basis. The ISO Manager will provide training for any employee that is required to maintain compliance with our certifications. The ISO Manager has the freedom to identify quality problems; initiate, recommend, or provide solutions and verify implementations of solutions. In instances of non-conforming materials, the ISO Manager will assure that further processing, delivery, installation or use is controlled using specific methods (NCR’s, DMR’s, etc.) until proper disposition has been determined.
Duties
- Develop and manage quality assurance metrics for performance improvement of all operations activities. Provide such metrics and recommendations for management review.
- Determine product consistency levels throughout product lifecycle from design through build phases by using quality checkpoints at specified intervals.
- Anticipate program release problems and take the necessary corrective action, escalating it as necessary to resolve and achieve commitments.
- Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, process stability studies and corrective actions.
- Lead company to improve assembly quality by completing product, company, and compliance audits.
- Investigate customer complaints; assigns the appropriate CAR, documents the corrective action using 8D method.
- Achieve quality assurance objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews.
- Identify areas for improvement, conduct risk assessments, and oversee corrective and preventive actions to resolve issues with focus on continuous improvement.
- Review vendors’ Quality Assurance Programs and make recommendations when necessary for improvement.
- Provide assistance for auditors representing customers and independent groups.
- Plan and coordinate vendor quality surveys and audits; evaluate the results of such surveys and audits; make recommendations and provide follow-up on corrective actions; and, inform the Materials Manager of any changes that may adversely affect component quality.
- Maintain the calibration of all equipment and gaging that requires traceability to NIST.
- Maintain and track all inventory pertinent to inspection, setup, and gaging.
- Determine inspection procedures, set frequency rates of inspection based on statistical analysis and work with engineering to ensure drawing accuracy and dimensional compliance.
- Train selected Drake personnel as internal auditors.
- Maintain contact with outside auditor.
- Communicate changes in ISO documents or procedures to all affected personnel.
- Accompany outside auditor on surveillance audit and coordinate all activities planned the day of the audit.
- Provides production support of a quality/statistical data analysis nature.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Deep understanding of audit methodologies.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in a Quality position.
- Experience with ISO 9001 is preferred.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
