Position Location:
This position will be located onsite in Fallon, Nevada.
Job Overview:
Responsible for the issue and receipt of all Government-owned support equipment maintained in this Annex in accordance with all Government rules, regulations, and directives.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties & Job Functions:

Issues and receives Government-owned support equipment for all activities aboard NAS Fallon in accordance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 Series and any local instructions.
- Performs joint pre-/post-operational inspections of equipment using appropriate cards and instructions. Services equipment as necessary with fuel, oil, and coolants.
- Performs minor equipment troubleshooting/repair. Identifies major discrepancies and initiates deficiency form on U.S. Navy NALCOMIS VIDS/MAFs or F-35 ALIS documentation for required maintenance actions.

Ensures all equipment is clean, FOD-free, and fully serviced in accordance with local instructions.

Maintains segregation of RFI and non-RFI equipment in designated parking areas, to ensure equipment does not become intermingled.

Ensures parking areas are FOD free.

Prepares, maintains, and submits misuse and abuse reports as required. Keeps lead mechanic and manager fully informed as to any trends associated with misuse and abuse of equipment or any pending equipment shortages.

Maintains accurate and timely records of all transactions associated with equipment location and sub-custody at all times.

Maintains central tool room and individual toolboxes in accordance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 Series and local instructions.
- Monitor’s calibration program requirements for all assigned tools and equipment ensuring calibration cycles are strictly enforced in accordance with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 Series and local instructions.
- Assists Production Control Clerk/MDS Specialist and makes input and updates to U.S. Navy NALCOMIS, OOMA, and F-35 ALIS maintenance data base programs.
- Prepares daily production reports as assigned.

Required to carry GSE duty-phone as assigned by manager and to respond to on-call situation within one hour to issue and receive equipment.

If on shift work, responsible to work alone and unsupervised.

Shall perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Mandatory:
-
Must be able to comprehend, read, speak, and write proficiently in the English language.
-
Must be computer literate, with basic MS programs, along with knowledge of U.S. Navy maintenance databases.

Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations in relation to the Issuing & Receipt of Ground Support Equipment.

Must have a current valid Driver’s License in the state in which the work is being performed.

Must be able to Obtain a 4790/102 Support Equipment License for various types and models of Ground Support Equipment located at NAS Fallon.

Working knowledge of gas/diesel engines, automotive electrical/mechanical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, power generating and air conditioning systems.
Preferred:
Two years of recent verifiable support equipment experience, with at least six months at the intermediate maintenance level.
Work Conditions:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 70 lbs.
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.

Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed.

Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm (cuts, bruises, burns, elevated noise levels, etc.

Work is typically performed on hard cement or asphalt surfaces.
