IT Asset Analyst II

Position Overview:

The IT Asset Analyst II supports financial planning, contract management, and lifecycle governance of IT assets within a finance-driven IT Asset Management (ITAM) practice. This role, working closely with IT Stakeholders and Finance will emphasize cost transparency, optimization of IT investments, and data guided decision making driving an efficient and well managed IT practice. The position will also support the ongoing alignment of assets to business services, enabling a more business-centric view of asset consumption and budgeting.


Responsibilities:

  • Update IT budget plans based on actual spend and approved projects
  • Analyze and account for the financial impact of CapEx on OpEx
  • Maintain and refine categorization of IT spending (Run, Grow, Transform)
  • Align budget items with corresponding business services and operational functions
  • Facilitate IT contract renewals with a focus on cost optimization, value maximization, and timeliness
  • Ensure accurate exchange of contract and asset data between contract management systems and asset management databases
  • Support cyclical vendor reviews by providing historical contract data and insights
  • Enhance and expand vendor review processes to improve performance tracking and accountability
  • Track real-time IT spending against budget and forecast targets
  • Report on budget performance and predict budget attainment trends
  • Partner with Finance to adjust forecasts and reconcile variances
  • Advise IT stakeholders on effective budget utilization and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Oversee end-to-end hardware lifecycle processes, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement
  • Ensure lifecycle tasks are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Identify and resolve data or process issues within asset management systems
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for asset management procedures
  • Generate reports on asset inventory, software usage, and operational metrics
  • Correlate asset and license usage data with financial impact and cost drivers
  • Maintain dashboards and deliver regular reporting to IT Asset Management (ITAM) leadership
  • Provide actionable insights to support decision-making and optimization efforts

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT Financial Management, or related discipline
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen
  • Experience with asset management and contract management systems
  • Proficiency in reporting tools and dashboard creation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of ITAM frameworks and best practices (e.g., ITIL)
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Familiarity with software license management and compliance monitoring
  • Experience with tools such as Apptio Cloudability, BMC Helix, Jira, and Microsoft Power BI
  • Demonstratable ability to identify process improvements and drive operational efficiency

Salary Range (Norwalk, CT): $101,150.69 - $134,867.58

Salary Range (Chattanooga, TN): $82,759.65 - 110,346.20

Annual Bonus Potential: 10%
