Job Summary
The IT Asset Specialist (Temporary) position is responsible for Planet’s IT hardware inventory. This role configures and ships hardware, receives incoming hardware, tracks shipments, tracks current inventory and maintains the equipment asset systems. This position also works with employees and service desk personnel to facilitate the deployment, replacement and recovery of systems and licenses, as well as supporting end users as the need arises. The Asset Manager also works with the Service Desk manager to order equipment and ensure that PHL has appropriate equipment stocked for new hires and replacements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains Asset Inventory in CMDB module of Service Now
- Configures, ships, receives and tracks equipment
- Works with shipping vendors to insure best pricing and tracking
- Works with equipment suppliers to maintain appropriate stocks in house and available at vendor locations
- Maintains Hardware asset room
- Works with vendors to conduct physical asset inventories
- Works with other IT staff to create and maintain processes
- Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree, or related equivalent experience required.
Experience
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in enterprise level IT asset management
- Experience working with end users and computer systems to facilitate replacement of equipment
- Experience working with vendors for equipment and shipping
Functional/Technical Skills
- Knowledge of IT Hardware systems
- Knowledge of IT Software systems
- Ticketing system experience
- Process creation and management skills
- Interpersonal skills for dealing with vendors and end users
