General Responsibility

The IT Business Analyst role is responsible for assisting in the analysis of business processes and requirements, supporting the development and implementation of IT solution that meet business needs. The position involves working closely with stakeholders, gathering and documenting requirements, and assisting in the testing and development of new systems.

Specific Duties
  • Oversee NICS technical administration, to include support of MS SQL Server, IIS/Web Server, and Online Document system. Coordinate with Online Document system vender to ensure updates are applied in a timely manner.
  • Perform NICS technical user support including user management, setting up external users, troubleshooting issues with the system, and correcting technical, workflow, or business issues with transmission of date from the system to NICS. Monitor systems for issues, and ensure data imports are working as needed.
  • Carry out IT Application user support of developed systems such as CCH, CATCH, and Applicants, as well as 3rd party products such as EDMS, LEMS, and ACISS.
  • Support requirements gathering, particularly with respect to technical needs. Consider technical consequences of user workflow requests, and in resolving potential conflicts. Document technical details of requirements to support engineers in product delivery.
  • Provide limited training and support. Communicate technical behavior of systems to users, document complex workflows, or provide consultation as needed to ensure business users understand underlying details.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or related area and experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of capabilities, techniques, and intricacies of information systems.
  • Must have the ability to understand and carry out complex technical instructions and requests.
  • Must have the ability to analyze and reduce to logical order of more complex technical data, and the ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Must have the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • This position is in-person in Columbia, SC and does not support remote work.
  • This position is subject to varied hours for situational response and periodic on-call duty.
