Job DescriptionAbout the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Consultant (SharePoint Specialist) to design, implement, and transition our organization’s document management and collaboration system from Dropbox and Google Suite to Microsoft SharePoint.
The consultant will be responsible for developing a scalable, secure, and user-friendly SharePoint architecture, ensuring smooth adoption across global teams, and aligning systems with the organization’s workflows, data management policies, and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment across departments and international offices.
- Design and implement a SharePoint architecture (sites, subsites, taxonomy, tagging, permissions).
- Define SOPs for document creation, collaboration, sharing, and approvals.
- Develop a migration and transition plan for data and document movement from Dropbox and Google Suite to SharePoint.
- Establish a governance and security framework to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Integrate SharePoint with Microsoft 365 tools for improved efficiency.
- Develop and deliver training sessions to ensure staff adoption (target: 95% usage within 30 days of training).
- Prepare detailed documentation — architecture diagrams, workflows, and access control models.
- Collaborate with the IT provider for system configuration and oversee the implementation.
- Provide change management support and regular progress reports to the project manager and leadership.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing SharePoint architectures, preferably for international NGOs or similar organizations.
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, Power Automate, etc.).
- Expertise in data migration, taxonomy, metadata design, and access control structures.
- Knowledge of information governance, compliance standards, and data security protocols.
- Experience integrating SharePoint with other tools for workflow automation and reporting.
Change Management & Communication:
- Experience managing user adoption and training programs for non-technical audiences.
- Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex IT concepts into clear, user-friendly language.
Professional Background:
- 5+ years of relevant experience as an IT Consultant, SharePoint Architect, or Microsoft 365 Specialist overall 10 years experience .
- Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Microsoft Certifications in SharePoint or Microsoft 365 (preferred).
