The Doctors Company is seeking an IT Financial Analyst to join our team. This is a hybrid opportunity based in East Lansing, MI.
The IT Financial Analyst will provide disciplined, accurate, and insightful financial management support to the Information Technology organization by owning IT financial data capture, procurement workflows, budget tracking, and advanced spend analysis—enabling transparency, informed decision-making, and effective oversight by IT leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5–8+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, procurement, or related roles
- Strong understanding of OpEx vs. CapEx accounting principles
- Experience working with financial account codes, cost centers, and budget structures
- Experience with procurement systems (Jaggaer or similar preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills; experience building reconciliations, models, and analytical reports
Responsibilities:
IT Budget & Financial Operations Management
- Capture, organize, and maintain IT financial data across OpEx and CapEx budgets
- Track IT spending against approved budgets and funding allocations
- Validate IT Officer requests against approved budgets prior to submission
- Maintain accurate mapping to financial account codes, cost centers, and categories
- Prepare reconciliations, variance analysis, and supporting documentation for CIO review
- Coordinate with Finance department on tax or insurance topics as they relate to IT.
Procurement & Financial Workflow Execution
- Serve as a resource to Admin Services on the coordination of procurement and to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
Financial Analysis, Trends & Insights
- Analyze IT spend across multiple dimensions, including:
- Cloud vs. on-premises infrastructure
- Software, hardware, and services
- Departments and teams within the IT Division
- Risk reduction, security, and compliance investments
- Identify trends, cost drivers, and emerging risks
- Develop analytical reports, dashboards, and summaries to support CIO decision-making
Contract & Vendor Financial Tracking
- Maintain a centralized inventory of IT contracts across software, hardware, and services
- Track renewal dates, financial commitments, and forecasted spend
- Support IT Officers by providing financial visibility into contract performance
- Assist in identifying redundant, overlapping, or underutilized contracts—especially post-acquisition
- Complete contract reviews for new contracts, identifying typical financial conditions, such as renewal terms or cost increases
Executive & Leadership Reporting
- Prepare executive-ready financial summaries and supporting materials for the CIO
- Support regular updates to the Executive team and occasional Board-level reporting
- Translate detailed financial data into concise, clear leadership-level insights
M&A Financial Support & Continuous Improvement
- Support acquisition-related IT financial activities, including:
- Organizing and onboarding acquired company IT contracts
- Establishing baseline IT spend for acquired entities
- Tracking integration-related IT costs
- Improve IT financial processes, reporting accuracy, and repeatability
- Reduce manual effort for IT leadership through standardized templates and reporting
Other duties as assigned
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in addressing emerging business needs, priorities, and strategic initiatives
- Continuously identify improvement opportunities beyond defined scope to strengthen IT’s strategic impact
Salary Range: $79,810 - $104,751. Compensation varies based on skills, knowledge, and education. We consider factors such as specialized skills, depth of knowledge in the field, and educational background to ensure fair and competitive pay.
