IT Healthcare Consultant

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled IT Healthcare Consultant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will partner with healthcare organizations to assess, implement, and optimize health information systems, ensuring seamless integration of technology with clinical and operational workflows. You will play a key role in driving digital health initiatives and improving patient outcomes through effective IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with healthcare clients to assess current IT infrastructure and identify improvement opportunities
• Support and optimize the deployment of health information systems including EHR/EMR platforms
• Ensure all implementations comply with HIPAA, HITECH, and Business Associate Agreement (BAA) standards
• Conduct workflow analysis and recommend process improvements aligned with clinical best practices
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, administrators, and IT teams to drive user adoption
• Develop training materials, user guides, and technical documentation for deployed solutions
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and optimization post-implementation
• Contribute to practice development and knowledge sharing within the consulting team

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in IT consulting with a focus on the healthcare industry
• Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and health information management
• Proven experience with healthcare compliance regulations including HIPAA and HITECH
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech, or similar
• Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, APIs, and healthcare interoperability standards
• Strong understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, PHI security, and Business Associate Agreements (BAA)
• Familiarity with clinical data integration, health data exchange, and system interoperability
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or MS Project
• Exposure to cloud-based healthcare platforms including AWS or Azure
• Understanding of healthcare data migration, system integration, and workflow optimization
