IT Infrastructure Architecture Specialist (SMP)

Basic Function:


The IT Infrastructure Architecture Specialist (SMP) is responsible for designing, governing, and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure architecture to ensure security, scalability, resilience, and alignment with business and enterprise architecture standards. The role provides expert-level leadership in infrastructure design across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.


Job Scope:

The IT Infrastructure Architecture Specialist is responsible for the design, governance, and continuous improvement of the organization’s IT infrastructure architecture. The role covers enterprise-wide infrastructure environments, including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid platforms, and ensures alignment with business needs, security requirements, and enterprise architecture standards.


Principal Duties:


1. Infrastructure Architecture & Design:

• Define and maintain the IT infrastructure architecture roadmap, standards, and reference architectures.

• Design scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure solutions across:

  • Data centers
  • Cloud platforms (IaaS / PaaS)
  • Hybrid environments

• Evaluate and approve infrastructure designs for new systems and major changes.


2. Security & Risk Management

• Ensure infrastructure architecture complies with information security, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on:

  • Network security
  • Identity and access management

• Identify and mitigate infrastructure-related risks.


3. Enterprise Integration & Systems Support

• Support enterprise systems (ERP, CAFM, HR, finance, core applications) from an infrastructure architecture perspective.

• Ensure proper integration with:

  • Active Directory / Identity platforms
  • Monitoring and logging platforms


4. Governance & Standards

• Establish and enforce infrastructure architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.

• Participate in architecture review boards and technical governance forums.

• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, IT strategy, and digital transformation initiatives.


5. Performance, Availability & Resilience

• Design infrastructure solutions with high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity in mind.

• Define backup, recovery, and resilience strategies.

• Optimize infrastructure performance, capacity, and cost.


6. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Work closely with:

  • Application teams
  • Security teams
  • Business stakeholders
  • Vendors and system integrators


7. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the management.


Job Requirements:


A. EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

B. EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 6 years of related experience is required.

C. LANGUAGE:

Excellent command of oral and written English is required.

D. Preferred Training and Certificates

Cloud certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect)

E. Critical Attributes and Competencies

• Infrastructure architecture (on-prem, cloud, hybrid)

• Networking (LAN, WAN, firewalls, load balancers)

• Virtualization and container platforms

• Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP)

• Identity and Access Management (Active Directory, SSO, MFA)

• Storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions

• Monitoring, logging, and performance tools

• Infrastructure security best practices
