IT Infrastructure & Data Center Engineer

Viper Group is looking for Senior IT Infrastructure and Data Center Engineer to manage customer Data Center operations, servers, backups, DR/BCP, network infrastructure, firewalls, and day-to-day troubleshooting across head office (Islamabad) and regional sites (Lahore & Karachi).

The role includes one-time implementation tasks and ongoing maintenance activities, with full responsibility for documentation, monitoring, reporting, and SLA-based service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Center & Server Management

• Review and enhance server configurations, racks, backups, virtualization and patch management.
• Deploy or revamp servers, systems and virtual environments (Head Office, DR site, cloud or regional offices).
• Perform preventive maintenance of servers, systems, laptops, UPS, switches and data center assets on quarterly basis.
• Manage backups (including LTO), test restore procedures, and maintain security & activity logs.
• Daily troubleshooting and installation support for servers, systems, laptops and related assets.
• Maintain and update infrastructure documentation, inventory records and BCP/DR logs.

Network Infrastructure & Security

• Manage LAN/WAN/VLAN, routing, secure VPN connectivity, internet links and ISP coordination.
• Configure, maintain and monitor Firewalls, Access Points, switches, endpoint protection and security controls.
• Perform monthly and quarterly network health checks, downtime logs, and configuration backups.
• Support DR drills, continuity plans and real-time incident handling.
• Prepare monthly or quarterly technical reports as per customer SLA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in IT/Computer Science or equivalent.
• Preferred Certifications (Not mandatory):
• CCNA/CCNP
• MCSA/MCSE
• VMware or Firewall certifications
• ITIL awareness is a plus

Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Center + Network Infrastructure roles.

• Hands-on experience with:
• Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP/DNS
• Virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V/Proxmox)
• Firewalls (Fortinet/Sophos/Palo Alto/Cisco)
• DR/BCP, backups, logs, and preventive maintenance
• Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to travel for periodic work

This is an onsite job at Islamabad with regular 9:00AM to 6:00PM timings (Monday to Friday)
