Job Title: IT Student Intern

SUMMARY

Are you a high school student looking for exposure to the IT field and exploring a potential career in technology? The St Labre IT department is looking for current high school students to join our team this summer. This 10 week summer internship will provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and training as you work alongside IT professionals in troubleshooting, installing, repairing and maintenance of client and enterprise equipment and systems. By the end of the internship, you will gain foundational knowledge in various IT areas including PC components and repair, networking services, IT asset management, cybersecurity, hardware installation, and more. This is an opportunity to contribute to the St Labre mission, supporting its students, staff, and community.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. *Indicates the non-essential duties and responsibilities. Nothing in this job description restricts St. Labre's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

  • Troubleshoot and repair chromebook and other client devices.

  • Assist in the inventory of business assets including chromebooks, PC’s, and interactive displays.

  • Assist in various summer projects which may include physical installation of security alarm sensors, surveillance cameras, and network cabling and devices.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems with IT systems, hardware, and software.

  • Provides in person or virtual support for staff regarding hardware or software questions or issues.

  • Refers major problems to service personnel for correction.

  • Attend training and learn technical information and skills as necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

No IT education or experience required, but history of interest and development in the IT career field is strongly preferred.
