Position Summary

The Enterprise IT Manager is responsible for building, maintaining, and securing Spokane Tribal Enterprises’ technology infrastructure in alignment with STE’s core values of Family, Honor, Compassion, Time, Self-Reliance, Hospitality, Unity, Accountability, and Curiosity. This role provides both hands-on technical leadership and strategic oversight of enterprise-wide systems, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions that support retail, distribution, and corporate operations.

Key Responsibilities

All responsibilities are carried out in alignment with STE’s people-first philosophy, cultural respect, accountability, and commitment to operational excellence.

IT Leadership & Team Development (Family, Unity)

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and tools for success to IT administrators supporting infrastructure, network, and desktop environments.
  • Train and develop junior IT staff in technical and operational best practices.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the IT Services team.

Infrastructure & Systems Management (Honor, Accountability)

  • Design, build, install, test, and support enterprise infrastructure systems, including servers, networks, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Provide advanced system administration and Tier 2/3 support for complex enterprise systems across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Perform system-level design and configuration, including hardware, operating systems, and platform specifications.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of enterprise applications and services.

Network & Security Operations (Time, Accountability)

  • Configure, install, and maintain firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless networks across all STE locations.
  • Partner with internal and external security teams to ensure systems are patched, monitored, and secure.
  • Build and deploy enterprise monitoring solutions to support capacity planning and system visibility.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to outages or degraded system performance.

Vendor & Project Management (Hospitality, Curiosity)

  • Serve as technical subject matter expert and liaison with vendors and service providers.
  • Coordinate escalations with vendor support teams during incidents.
  • Lead and support infrastructure-related projects, upgrades, and new implementations.
  • Support disaster recovery planning and execution.

Operational Strategy & Standardization (Self-Reliance, Accountability)

  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures for managing infrastructure, networks, and devices.
  • Implement standardized technology ordering based on job roles and business needs.
  • Design and implement automated ticketing systems to improve service levels, accountability, and tracking.
  • Develop clear escalation and contact procedures for system incidents.

Strategic Goals & Initiatives

  • Obtain Fuel Systems Technician certification to serve as first-line support for fuel system technology.
  • Lead full network rebuilds to enable seamless access and connectivity across all STE locations.
  • Eliminate reliance on NDM remote support.
  • Implement enterprise-wide password management and mobile device management solutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Network Administrator or Server Administrator.
  • Strong hands-on experience with virtualization technologies and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, IP addressing, and subnetting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft server and workstation operating systems, Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS/DHCP, and security tools.
  • Experience supporting multi-site, multi-environment enterprise systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure, network, security, and application issues.
  • Strong project management and implementation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Professional office and field-based work environments.
  • Frequent computer, keyboard, and network equipment use.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to respond effectively during emergencies, outages, and system failures.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay rate is DOE/DOQ. Benefits include PTO, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), and professional development opportunities contingent upon funding and approval.
