IT / EDP In-Charge – Job Responsibilities1. Hospital Information System (HIS) / EHR Management
- Implement, manage, and support the Hospital Information System (HIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), and other medical software.
- Coordinate with software vendors for upgrades, troubleshooting, and customization.
- Ensure smooth functioning of modules like patient registration, billing, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and insurance claims.
- Monitor data accuracy and integrity across HIS/EDP platforms.
2. Network, Hardware & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, desktops, laptops, printers, PACS systems, and biomedical IT interfaces.
- Ensure uninterrupted internet connectivity, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewall, VPN, CCTV systems, etc.
- Prevent downtime in critical systems (ICU monitoring, dialysis systems, diagnostic imaging, etc.).
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets, licenses, and warranty records.
3. Data Security & Backup
- Implement cybersecurity measures—firewalls, antivirus, access controls, encryption.
- Regularly back up hospital data and maintain disaster recovery systems.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, HIPAA-like data confidentiality, and patient privacy.
- Handle role-based access for hospital staff to sensitive data.
4. User Support & Training
- Provide helpdesk/technical support for doctors, nurses, billing staff, and admin teams.
- Train staff on usage of HIS, PACS, and other hospital applications.
- Troubleshoot IT issues quickly to avoid delays in patient care.
5. Coordination with Departments
- Work with clinical, administrative, finance, and operations teams to integrate IT solutions.
- Coordinate with the biomedical engineering team for IT-enabled medical equipment.
- Collaborate with insurance/TPA desks to ensure EDP systems are aligned with claim submissions.
6. EDP (Electronic Data Processing) Functions
- Manage data entry operations, MIS reports, and analytics for management review.
- Generate periodic reports on admissions, discharges, billing, drug consumption, bed occupancy, revenue, etc.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory reports to government/insurance authorities via digital platforms.
- Automate routine processes for operational efficiency.
7. System Upgrades & Innovation
- Evaluate and implement new healthcare IT technologies—cloud solutions, telemedicine platforms, AI-based diagnostic tools.
- Ensure integration of Lab Information Systems (LIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), PACS, and pharmacy automation.
- Plan for IT scalability in line with hospital expansion.
8. Compliance & Audit Support
- Maintain IT compliance for NABH accreditation, biomedical audits, insurance audits, and statutory inspections.
- Document IT-related policies (data retention, access control, downtime procedures).
- Support clinical and administrative audits with accurate data retrieval.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
