The IT Officer will be responsible for Level 1 and Level 2 IT support, IT operations, hardware/software maintenance, network/firewall configurations, and IT procurement & inventory processes. This role ensures seamless IT service delivery, smooth execution of user onboarding/offboarding, and effective coordination across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for IT-related issues, ensuring timely resolution for Level 1 & Level 2 support queries.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, operating systems
(Windows & macOS), and software applications.
- Prepare and configure systems for new hires, including user account creation, software installation, and network access.
- Perform hardware replacements, upgrades, and routine system servicing.
- Manage the offboarding process – system collection, data backup, account deactivation, and asset record update.
- Manage and troubleshoot biometric machines, door locks, UniFi APs, and handle system
shifting/relocation activities.
- Manage basic Active Directory tasks (user creation, password reset, group assignments).
- Install, configure, and maintain pfSense firewall, including static mapping, interface
configurations, LAN/WAN setup, traffic monitoring, and graph analysis.
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues including VLAN connectivity, IP conflicts, and switch port
availability.
- Perform software installation, updates, and security patch deployment for Windows &
macOS systems.
- Install, update, and patch developer & designer tools (Unity, 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, Adobe Suite, and related software).
- Monitor and report system health, including servers, firewalls, network devices, and backup status (escalate where needed).
- Handle IT procurement process – gather user requests, get approvals, collect vendor quotations, finalize purchase, and ensure timely delivery.
- Manage IT inventory – tagging new assets, updating inventory records, and tracking asset
movement.
- Process IT invoices – verify documentation and submit to Finance for payment processing.
- Maintain internal Knowledge Base and document recurring issues/solutions.
- Promote cybersecurity best practices (phishing awareness, password hygiene) among users.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff for escalations, infrastructure upgrades, and project support.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows OS, macOS, MS Office Suite, and common IT
hardware.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of networking (IP addressing, DNS, ping, traceroute,
VLANs, LAN/WAN troubleshooting).
- Hands-on knowledge of pfSense firewall (interfaces, static mapping, graphs, monitoring).
- Familiarity with Active Directory, file sharing, printing services, and wireless AP management.
- Experience in software installation and patching for developer/designer tools (Unity, Max,
Maya, Blender, Adobe Suite).
- Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and invoice handling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on effective, professional, and clear interaction with users.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- OR equivalent diploma in IT/Computer Networking with relevant experience.
- 1–3 years of proven experience in IT support, operations, or system administration.
