PAY SCALE: $112,200.00 - $140,000.00 ANNUALLY
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The QA Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test solutions to ensure the quality and reliability of applications across multiple platforms. This role works closely with developers and QA team members to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and drive efficiency in the software delivery process.
The QA Engineer is expected to demonstrate competent proficiency in test strategy and design, including risk based testing, comprehensive test case design, and test planning across multiple applications or services. This role requires solid technical skills in test automation, programming or scripting, API testing, and effective use of CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated tests into delivery workflows. The QA Engineer manages test data and environments for assigned projects, independently executes and monitors automated and manual test suites, and contributes to release readiness assessments with data driven input. Strong competency in defect and incident management, data analysis of QA metrics, and clear documentation and reporting are essential, along with active participation in Agile practices, cross functional collaboration, and continuous improvement of tools and processes. The QA Engineer is expected to balance technical depth with growing business awareness by considering customer impact, regulatory and compliance needs, and risk when designing and prioritizing tests.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
1. Design and implement automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
2. Maintain and enhance automation frameworks for scalability and reusability.
3. Perform functional, regression, and integration testing in Agile environments.
4. Collaborate with developers to ensure testability and quality standards.
5. Conduct API testing and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
6. Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and provide detailed reports.
PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:
1. Exceptional oral and written communication skills to interact with members, credit union staff and management, negotiate vendor agreements and manage project teams.
2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as personal computer, multi-use copiers and telephone.
3. Must be able to work on own initiative.
4. Excellent project management skills are required to manage the implementation enterprise-wide projects, prepare recommendations, perform analysis, and to accomplish other project management functions as listed.
5. Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines may be required to work extended hours to complete tasks.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:
1. INTERNAL: All levels of staff and management, including Senior Management.
2. EXTERNAL: Vendors (as needed).
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. EXPERIENCE: 4–5 years in software testing or quality assurance with strong automation experience.
3. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS: Proficiency in automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)., Experience with scripting languages (Java, Python, or JavaScript), Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), Knowledge of API testing frameworks (Postman, REST Assured). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
2. Corrected vision within the normal range.
3. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
4. Ability to lift 20 lbs. as may be required.
5. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
6. May require long work hours to accomplish tasks.
7. Occasional travel may be required locally, statewide, and throughout the United States to attend seminars and vendor group meetings. Overnight travel and evening schedules included.
8. Prolonged use of telephone to accomplish tasks.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
