Role Overview

As an IT Security Specialist, you will support project teams by identifying and fixing security issues that could delay progress. You'll provide practical, risk-based solutions to keep projects moving while maintaining strong security standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Work with project teams to help meet deadlines by solving security-related issues.

• Identify and fix technical security problems during project delivery.

• Offer expert advice on security best practices and ensure alignment with company policies.

• Balance security needs with project and business goals.

• Keep up to date with new security threats and solutions.

• Investigate security incidents and help prevent future issues.

• Provide day-to-day support for IT security-related problems.

• Maintain and improve security processes, standards, and documentation.

Key Skills

Essential

• Good knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.

• Understanding of core security principles (e.g. least privilege, defense-in-depth).

Desirable

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.

• Ability to think creatively to solve problems.

• Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, SSCP, CCSP, etc. are a plus.

Technical Experience

• Familiarity with tools like:

  • CrowdStrike EDR

  • Digital certificate management

  • Web Application Firewalls (WAF) like Imperva

  • VPN, Web Proxies, Endpoint Protection

• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud environments.

• Background in multi-platform environments (Linux, Windows, UNIX).

• Understanding of security standards (e.g. PCI DSS, ISO 27001, ISM).

• Experience in:

  • Firewalls, intrusion detection

  • Incident response and policy writing

  • Vulnerability testing and compliance

  • Designing and implementing security controls for web platforms

• Comfortable working with vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure compliance during audits or tenders.

Other Responsibilities

• Follow Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) guidelines.

• Help improve and follow company quality systems and processes.

• Keep training and certification records up to date.

• Report and help fix any issues that affect quality or compliance.
