IT Senior Computer Operator

SALARY ENTRY: $51,117.46 – Max $ 90,502.93 Annually

Miami-Dade County’s Communications, Information & Technology Department (CITD) is recruiting for a full-time IT Senior Computer Operator assigned to the Operations Unit within the Enterprise Data Center Division. The Operations Unit provides 24-hour, seven-day-a-week coverage to ensure the continuous support, monitoring, and availability of the County’s mainframe and distributed computer systems, including associated hardware, software, and applications.

Job components include the following:

  • managing mainframe console operations
  • monitoring systems using SolarWinds and other network monitoring tools
  • overseeing enterprise job scheduling
  • operating high-speed laser printers
  • utilizing post-processing equipment such as pressure sealers
  • providing after-hours help desk support.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Operating a county vehicle/van for the delivery and distribution of computer reports, as required

The work schedule for this position is from 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM and will require work on weekends, holidays, and overtime. Unit works 24x7, due to operational necessity, work schedule can be changed to 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
