IT & Social Media Marketing Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a creative Social Media Manager to join our growing business. Pacific GeoLab is a small but world-renowned company with deep roots in the natural history market. The ideal candidate will have a great interest in geology and paleontology, and a penchant for fossils, gems, crystals and rocks in general. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective social media strategies that enhance our brand presence, engage our audience, and drive traffic to our platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of social media marketing, content creation, and analytics to optimize campaigns across various channels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Create engaging content tailored for different platforms, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
  • Manage social media accounts using tools to analyze performance.
  • Conduct SEO and keyword research to enhance the visibility of content.
  • Utilize Google Analytics and web analytics to track engagement metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Implement Facebook Advertising campaigns to increase reach and engagement.
  • Monitor social media trends, conversations, and brand mentions through social listening.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including public relations, e-commerce, and digital marketing for cohesive branding efforts.
  • Maintain relationships with influencers and partners to promote brand initiatives.
  • Proofread all content for accuracy and consistency before publication.
  • Stay updated on natural history industry trends in social media management, graphic design, and digital marketing.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in social media management with a portfolio showcasing successful campaigns.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for graphic design needs.
  • Experience with video editing tools for creating engaging multimedia content.
  • Excellent communication skills with an eye for detail in proofreading content.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce strategies is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze data from various sources to inform decision-making processes.
  • Creative mindset with an emphasis on geology and paleontology.
  • A passion for storytelling through digital channels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Minneapolis, MN 55410
