The IT Solution Architect role is responsible for defining the architectural roadmap and design the solution architecture for the requirements of Vodafone Oman. The IT Solution Architect role plays an active role both in the execution and architectural governance processes. While the role acts as team member in the Agile Squad, he/she also leads the architectural runway by creating architectural artifacts as delivery.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership

Lead detailed design for mobile prepaid, postpaid and fixed wireless solutions including relevant OSS/BSS integrations especially billing, charging, provisioning, APIs and sales & service channels

Work with business & technical stakeholders to consult on creation and understanding of requirements

Document & justify decisions with peers & leaders across the business

Proficient understanding and discussing end-to-end solutions flow involving TMF, SIP, Diameter, Web services, XML, JSON, HTTP(S), REST, SOAP and various other APIs

Participate in and, when necessary, lead, vendor evaluation & selection

Understanding of the software development process of carrier class software, including software lifecycle management, as well as automation and integration to CI/CD chains

Responsible for delivery quality internally and externally to all related parties
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

Direct experience in IT in a Digital environment in a similar role.

Direct experience in IT in a Telecom environment in a similar role.

Solid practical experience in TM Forum Framework.

Deep knowledge of Enterprise patterns

Deep Knowledge of Security Architecture for API/Application and Cloud.

Deep Knowledge of on Cloud μ-services development

Knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems architecture, integration architecture and data architecture standards, frameworks, and practices

Knowledge of common system integration methods and technologies including JSON, YAML, AVRO, ProtoBuf, gPRC, Kafka streams, automation and orchestration tools and software

Experience with the implementation of Continuous Integration practices and tooling to support automated build, delivery and regression test of solution.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Information Technology

At least 8 to 10 years work experience in the solution design & architecture

Five or more years of hands-on experience in BSS, online charging, retail and wholesale billing, sales and distribution management, telecom mediation and digital apps with either telecom operator or a system integrator

Past Digital Experience Layer Channel Transformation Projects Experience (Ideally 2 projects)

Previous experience of working with Agile Frameworks like SCRUM, SAFE, LeSS. SAFE experience is preferred
