Job Overview

A-Better Heat & Air Conditioning, a leading Oklahoma-based HVAC contractor with over 40 years of trusted service, is seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Specialist to join our team. We are renowned for our expertise in a wide range of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions, from central air units to advanced indoor air quality systems. This is a full-time position based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving our company's IT infrastructure, providing vital technical support to our office staff and certified field technicians. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our technological systems run efficiently, enabling our team to continue providing the exceptional service our customers have come to expect.

Responsibilities

 

• Provide first-line technical support for all hardware, software, and network-related issues to both in-office and remote employees.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, mobile devices, printers, and company software.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in line with company policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
• Ensure the security and integrity of our IT systems and data through regular monitoring and maintenance.
• Support the implementation of new software and technology solutions to improve business efficiency.
• Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all IT assets and create clear technical documentation.
• Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers as required.

Qualifications

 

• Proven experience in an IT support or IT specialist role.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows), and networking principles.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience providing technical support for mobile devices (smartphones/tablets).
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
• A relevant qualification or certification in IT (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) would be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with the service industry or a business with a field-based workforce is an advantage.
