IT Specialist (Hospitality Sector Experienced)

Job Overview:

We are sourcing for an IT Specialist who will be responsible for the seamless operation of technology across hotel properties/hospitality sector of our esteemed organization, ensuring that both guest-facing systems and back-of-house infrastructure function without interruption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Support & Maintenance: Provide first and second-line technical support for hotel staff and guests, addressing issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and connectivity.
  • Hospitality Application Management: Install, configure, and maintain industry-specific software such as Property Management Systems (PMS) (e.g., Opera), Point of Sale (POS) (e.g., Micros Simphony), and inventory systems.
  • Infrastructure & Networking: Manage LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and server configurations to ensure high-speed internet and secure connectivity throughout the property.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement cybersecurity protocols, manage data backups, and ensure compliance with industry standards like PCI DSS to protect guest and financial data.
  • Guest Technology Support: Resolve guest complaints regarding in-room entertainment systems, Wi-Fi access, and digital concierge services.
  • Vendor Coordination: Act as the primary technical point of contact for external IT vendors, service providers, and telecommunications companies.
  • Operational Readiness: Support new property openings (pre-opening), system upgrades, and large-scale technology rollouts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is typically required.
  • Experience: Usually 2–5 years of IT support experience, with a strong preference for candidates from a hospitality or multi-site environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Windows/Linux OS, networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS), and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are highly valued.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, excellent verbal communication for non-technical users, and an "amiable personality" suited for guest-facing hospitality environments.
