IT Support Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on IT Support Officer to provide technical assistance and ensure the smooth, uninterrupted operation of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be proactive in supporting end-users, resolving hardware and software issues, and maintaining a stable and secure IT environment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

End-User Support

  • Provide first-level IT support to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Respond to helpdesk requests promptly and professionally, ensuring timely resolution
  • Train and guide staff on basic IT tools, systems, and best practices

Hardware & Peripherals

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals
  • Troubleshoot hardware faults and coordinate repair or replacement with vendors
  • Set up and maintain IP phones, telephone exchange (PABX) systems, and landline connections
  • Install, configure, and maintain IP cameras and CCTV systems (NVR/DVR setup, camera placement, and feed monitoring)
  • Support and maintain biometric attendance devices (enrollment, troubleshooting, and data synchronization)

Networking — LAN / WAN

  • Install and configure LAN infrastructure including switches, routers, access points, and patch panels
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues, including Ethernet cabling, IP conflicts, and DNS/DHCP problems
  • Configure and maintain Wi-Fi networks, including access point placement and wireless security settings
  • Monitor network performance and assist with bandwidth management
  • Work with ISPs for WAN connectivity issues, fiber/DSL troubleshooting, and service coordination
  • Basic firewall configuration and port management (e.g., Fortigate, TP-Link)

Systems & Software

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows OS (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Manage user accounts, system access, and password resets (Active Directory or local accounts)
  • Install and update drivers, software applications, and operating system patches
  • Support internal applications, ERP systems, and HR/attendance software

Security & Maintenance

  • Ensure antivirus installation, updates, and regular system scans across all endpoints
  • Perform and verify data backups; maintain backup logs and recovery procedures
  • Enforce basic cybersecurity practices including access control and email security awareness
  • Apply Windows security updates and software patches on schedule

CCTV & Surveillance

  • Install and configure IP cameras, NVR/DVR units, and surveillance software
  • Manage camera feeds, recording schedules, and storage allocation
  • Troubleshoot camera connectivity, image quality, and recording issues
  • Coordinate with security teams for CCTV access and incident review

IT Asset Management & Documentation

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date IT inventory of all hardware and software assets
  • Document IT procedures, network diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
  • Track equipment issuance, returns, warranties, and vendor contacts

Vendor & Procurement Support

  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for hardware procurement, repairs, and AMC services
  • Obtain quotations and assist in evaluating IT equipment purchases

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in an IT Support or Helpdesk role
  • Solid knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and basic networking (LAN/WAN)
  • Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience with IP phones, PABX/telephone exchange systems, and landline setup
  • Working knowledge of IP cameras, CCTV systems, NVR/DVR configuration
  • Familiarity with network devices: switches, routers, access points, patch panels
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic network protocols
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks under pressure

Preferred / Advantage Skills

  • Experience with biometric devices and attendance management systems
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and user account management
  • Familiarity with ERP, HR, or HMIS systems
  • Basic firewall and network security experience (Fortigate, TP-Link, Cisco)
  • Experience with fiber optic media converters and WAN links
  • Knowledge of structured cabling and cable management
  • Familiarity with remote desktop tools (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, RDP)
