Description:
The IT Support Specialist III – Assessor’s Office performs specialized, complex IT technical support, customer service, and desktop support functions. Answers questions, identifies root causes, and resolves computer problems in person, via telephone, or electronically. Provides assistance in the use of computer hardware, software, and online applications. Identifies and implements improvements to IT support processes and procedures.
Work includes various tasks involving data analysis, data entry, verification, and complex administrative business process support. Tasks focus on processes within the office’s software application and the use of Excel, SQL, SSRS, and Crystal for querying and reporting. Provides customer service and information to the public and other county departments, as needed.
SCHEDULE:
This position will be Monday-Thursday and requires in-office support, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
COMPENSATION:
Hiring Range: $30.37–$34.17 USD Hourly
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Develops and utilizes Excel, SQL, SSRS and Crystal reporting services to create, extract, analyze, and manipulate data for reporting, quality assurance, and decision-making support. Review and validate data for accuracy and compliance with external reporting requirements (tax roll, notices, abstract), performing QA/testing, data correction, and assessment software troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and fixes.

Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operations; diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems. Determine root causes of complex hardware and software issues, conduct diagnostics, and provide feedback and instructions to users. Escalate issues to subject matter experts or vendors as appropriate.

Performs computer systems administration and support tasks, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of PC hardware, operating systems, software, peripherals, mobile devices, audiovisual systems, and online applications, including support within a networked enterprise environment.

Maintains records of data communications, issues, remedial actions, and installation activities.

Develops training materials and procedures and train users and team members on hardware, software, and business processes. Maintains and expands technical knowledge through ongoing training.

Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new or modified systems. Identify and implement improvements to IT support processes and procedures.

Conduct office automation feasibility studies, including workflow analysis, space design or cost comparison analysis.

Maintain and build knowledge and skills on new business and technology trends that affect the business environment.

Applies and supports digital accessibility standards for web content.

Performs business process support, including document processing, mail merges, scanning solutions, secure file handling, and technical/application support for internal staff and external users.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

3 years of work-related experience in IT support, network support, administrative support, and data support.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.

Note an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Preferred Working Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
3 years plus HDI Help Desk Analyst and/or Systems Administration experience.
-
3 years plus hands-on hardware support experience.
-
Asset management experience.
-
IT Ticketing system experience.
-
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to articulate clearly and effectively to varying levels of customer.

Experience with digital accessibility standards.

Strong written and verbal communication.
-
Work independently and as part of a project team.
-
Hands-on experience in SQL, SSRS and Crystal.
-
Experience supporting enterprise or line of business applications.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel to calculate, analyze, track and review data.
