IT Tech Support Technician

POSITION: IT Support Technician

LOCATION: Greenville Technical Charter High School

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: Open until filled

SALARY RANGE: $35,000-$45,000

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists the Director of IT with day-to-day technology operations. Work schedule is variable but will primarily be within the school workday from 7:45 to 3:45. The candidate who is selected will be primarily responsible for all end-user support inquiries.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist Students and Staff with any technical issues they may encounter

• Ensure that all classroom technology is 100% operational at all times

• Monitor data networks to ensure that all equipment remains online and notify the Director of

IT of any outages or abnormalities

• Respond swiftly to all IT Help Desk tickets

• Maintain documentation of any changes made in the production environment

• Assist the Director of IT with the management of all data networks, security cameras, and VOIP

systems, Azure Active Directory, Google Workspace, and cybersecurity

• All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of basic IP addressing and familiarity with the OSI and TCP/IP

Data Network Models

• Understanding of basic network protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, etc

• Experience with Windows-based operating systems

• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff

• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems with minimal assistance

• Desire and drive to advance knowledge and skills related to IT

REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school graduate or GED and some post-secondary education

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 Year of prior IT experience. Education can be substituted for

experience on a year-by-year basis.
