JOB TITLE: IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and secure our organization’s IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for servers, networks, cloud services, end-user support, and system security. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoots efficiently, and automates repetitive tasks to improve system reliability.
Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Administration & Maintenance
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server, Linux (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS), and/or macOS servers.
- Manage virtualization environments (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Proxmox).
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and resource utilization; proactively resolve bottlenecks.
- Perform regular patch management, firmware updates, and software upgrades.
Network Management
- Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, pfSense, Cisco ASA), and switches.
- Manage DNS, DHCP, and IP address schemes.
- Ensure network security best practices (VLAN segmentation, access control lists).
Cloud & Hybrid Environments
- Administer cloud platforms (Microsoft 365 / Azure, AWS, or Google Workspace).
- Manage identity and access via Azure AD / Entra ID or Okta.
- Support hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN tunnels to cloud).
Security & Backup
- Implement and test backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Acronis, or native cloud backups).
- Monitor logs and alerts for security incidents; respond to potential threats.
- Manage antivirus/EDR solutions (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Defender for Endpoint).
- Assist with compliance audits (SOC2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or GDPR as applicable).
End-User & Helpdesk Support
- Serve as escalation point for Level 2/3 helpdesk tickets.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies (Active Directory / Entra ID).
- Support productivity tools (Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, etc.).
Automation & Documentation
- Write scripts (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) to automate routine administrative tasks.
- Maintain accurate system documentation (network diagrams, configurations, runbooks).
- Create and update IT policies and standard operating procedures.
Required QualificationsEducation & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
Technical Skills
- Operating Systems: Expert in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and proficient in Linux administration.
- Virtualization: Strong experience with VMware or Hyper-V.
- Networking: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Cloud: Experience with Microsoft 365 admin center and Azure IaaS or AWS EC2/S3.
- Scripting: Ability to write and understand PowerShell or Bash scripts.
- Backup/DR: Proven experience with backup tools and recovery testing.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Self-starter with ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Team player willing to mentor junior staff.
Pay: QAR90,000.00 - QAR135,000.00 per year
