IVF lab technician

Laboratory Operations

• Assist in day-to-day functioning of the IVF/ART laboratory
• Prepare culture media, consumables, and labware as per SOPs
• Maintain aseptic conditions and lab cleanliness at all times
• Handle gametes and embryos under the supervision of an embryologist

Andrology Support

• Assist in semen analysis, sperm preparation, washing, and processing
• Maintain records of semen samples and reports
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of biological samples

Equipment & Maintenance

• Operate and monitor laboratory equipment such as incubators, microscopes, centrifuges, and cryo tanks
• Perform routine calibration, temperature monitoring, and equipment checks
• Report equipment malfunction immediately

Quality Control & Compliance

• Follow NABH / ICMR / ART Act guidelines and internal SOPs
• Maintain accurate lab registers, logs, and documentation
• Support audits, inspections, and quality improvement activities

Cryopreservation Support

• Assist in cryopreservation and thawing of semen, oocytes, and embryos (as per authorization)
• Monitor liquid nitrogen levels and cryo storage safety

Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, counselors, and OT staff
• Ensure timely availability of samples and reports
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical handling of patient information

Educational Qualification

• B.Sc / M.Sc in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Zoology, or related field
• Diploma / Certification in Embryology or ART (preferred)

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in an IVF / ART laboratory preferred
• Freshers with relevant certification may be considered

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of IVF lab protocols and ART procedures
• Attention to detail and high accuracy
• Ability to work in sterile and high-pressure environments
• Good documentation and computer skills
• Ethical, patient-centric, and team-oriented approach

Working Conditions

• Rotational shifts, including weekends and emergency duties
• Exposure to biological samples and cryogenic materials
